Abstract: (171 Views)
The increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents has emerged as a major public health challenge worldwide and in Iran. Evidence indicates that unhealthy dietary habits formed during school age play a significant role in the development of overweight and obesity. Easy access to high-fat, high-salt, and high-sugar snacks in school canteens, along with inadequate supervision, contributes to this growing problem. This letter emphasizes the importance of nutrition education at early ages and the need to strengthen the monitoring of school food services to prevent overweight and obesity and to promote the health of future generations. Stricter supervision of school canteens and the provision of healthier food options are essential steps to prevent childhood obesity and improve long-term public health
