Background: The role of individual healthy behaviors, like physical activity, nutrition and stress management, on reduction of the rate of disease mortality and morbidity is well known. The aim of this study is to determine the healthy life styles of teachers in district 4 of Esfahan, Iran, in 2010. Methods: The participants of this cross-sectional study were 96 teachers in  district 4, selected via random sampling method. The data collection was performed using a questionnaire, which consisted of demographic and healthy life style questions. Analysis of the data was performed by SPSS software 18. Findings:  Mean BMI of the participants was 25.08 ± 3.20, and their mean age was 40.26 ± 6.05 years. 96.8% of the teachers were married and 3.1% single. 1% of the teachers had an unfavorable life style, 13.5% moderate, and 85.4% favorable. In relation to nutrition, 2% of the teachers had an unfavorable life style, 23%moderate, and 74% favorable.  In relation to physical activity 76%, smoking 29.2% and stress 21.9% had a moderately favorable life style. Conclusion: considering the results of the current study, planning for teachers in schools to receive information about healthy life styles is important.
