Background: The self-burning is one of the most painful methods of suicide. Self-burning was performed Influenced by various factors. This study is aimed to study self-burning event within women of Javanrood and Ravansar cities in Kermanshah province and demographic characteristics of unsuccessful victims. Methods: This study was a survey – descriptive. Research area is Javanrood and Ravansar cities of Kermanshah province and the sample size was 16 cases. The data gathered by semi-structured interviews. Findings: Results showed that majority responders were married (56.3%), rural (62.5%), housewives (56.3) with primary education (50%). The mean age was 27 years and the maximum self-burning saw in 16-30 age groups. The important reasons for self-burning (44%) were bravery and the sincerity of their situation. Conclusion: According to the results, we believe the main reason of self- burning in the statistical society is value and cultural differentiation between generations. For solving this problem, it__AWT_QUOTE__s necessary to see it as a process, social and psycho issue. Also more researches, cooperation between related organizations, appropriate educations for decreasing traditional and dogmatic beliefs, providing more educational and economical opportunities and filling of leisure time are helpful for decreasing self-burning.
