Background: Studying organizational culture acts as a tool for gathering information; this enables managers to compare work groups to prioritize problems and identify staff understandings and expectations to improve the gap between current and optimal situations. The aim of this research was to survey relationship of organizational culture and empowerment in staff of headquarters of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Methods: In the descriptive survey, library sesources such as books and scientific journals were used for literature review to achieve the information. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect the data. Formal validity of questionnaire was confirmed by the number of professors and experts, and its reliability by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated to be 0.81 and 0.90 for empowerment and organizational culture, respectively. The study population included 271 of headquarters staff of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The questionnaire was distributed among 74 people; using simple random sampling. The data were analysed using SPSS software. Findings: The trust between partners and independence of the organization leadership had the highest correlation. Also, there was a significant relationship between organizational culture and staff empowerment with the correlation of +0.483. In other words, by improving the organizational culture, job empowerment increased by a coefficient of 0.483. Conclusion: Findings showed that if the organizational culture is to promote employee empowerment, the staff is more motivated and eager to do the job; and using the employee's ability can cause more creativity and initiative.
