Background: Universities are the origin of society revolution and university students are the main component of the universities and society__AWT_QUOTE__s organization. Student perspective about factors (such as sex, age and field of study) in relation with future career is an effective component in their enthusiasm which should be investigated. This research aimed to determine the attitude of health students towards their field of study and own future career in School of health, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this descriptive cross–sectional study, 318 health students studying in public health, environmental health, occupational health and nutrition fields were selected randomly. Data collected through a researcher–made questionnaire including 44 questions about their prospects regarding earning, social and qualitative aspects, individual__AWT_QUOTE__s concern about job security, personal and family welfare, self satisfaction and the pivotal problem. The data were analyzed by SPSS software using descriptive and analytical statistics. Findings: Mean score of the health students__AWT_QUOTE__ attitude toward their field of study and their future career were 61.25 ± 7.008 and 62.54 ± 10.36 respectively. They showed 87.4% positive attitudes towards their future career and 95.6% positive attitudes towards their field of study. No significant difference was observed between age and mean of diploma score (P > 0.05). There was a significant relationship between students__AWT_QUOTE__ attitude and field of study and attitude towards their field of study (P < 0.05). Personal interests, serving society, social status of health and society__AWT_QUOTE__s belief on the importance of health were the most important factors make the positive attitude in health students regarding their future career of. Conclusion: Most of the students had good perspective towards their own future career. It seems that proper distribution of human resources, providing financial support of employment, establishing counseling and supporting centers for students would improve their attitudes in this regard.
